Our Faerie Festival was conceived from the Spoutwood Farm May Day Fairie Festival in Glen Rock PA. We were so impressed by that wonderful event that we found ourselves wishing to bring a little bit of that magic back home to Maryland. As soon as we made that wish, happy little elves began dancing upon our heads night and day and would not cease or let us sleep until they had tricked us into making our wish come true by starting up our OWN Faerie Festival. Little by little, like-minded people with their own happy little elves banded together and the Maryland Faerie Festival was born. We are very proud and grateful to have the blessings, support, advice and help of so many of the wonderful faeries and people from the Spoutwood Faire. "Kubiando!" to all of them!

All of us here donate our time as a labor of love. We welcome the help of any like-minded faeries, elves, and humans who wish to become more closely involved with the festival. If you find a happy little elf dancing upon your own brow, please feel free to contact us or even volunteer on the day of the event. It is never too late to get involved!

We hope that the festival grows beyond all our dreams, and that in the years to come you will look forward to visiting our enchanted land. May the little elves, faeries, gnomes, pixies, and every other creature under the stars look upon our event with happy souls and share in our revelry.

Kal has worked with Non Profit Organizations professionally for 12 years in all aspects of training, recruiting, fundraising, camp management and a myriad of other tasks. He holds a bachelor's degree in Psychology and a minor in Sociology, with master's credits in not for profit administration and drug addictions counseling. He has been a member of such organizations as Jaycees, Exchange Club, Rotary Club, Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts. He has served as President, Vice President, Secretary and Trustee for several religious not for profits and has served on youth boards and grant readers boards over the years. He has organized at least one retreat or festival that has served the Baltimore-Washington area consistently since 1995. He currently is a supervisor with a world wide delivery and logistics corporation.

Viv is the co-leader of the Spiral Scouts troop at Paint Branch Unitarian Church and co-leads the children’s activities at the healing circles and celebrations at CPC events at Paint Branch.

She has over two decades experience in the electronics manufacturing and energy management industries serving in the responsibilities of: materials manager, project manager, procurement, production, installation manager and bookkeeper. She also served as Vice President of Services where she lead in oversight of: contract administration, customer relations and management of the billing department. Before leaving corporate life she served as the Vice President of Marketing.

Most importantly she is a mother to her son Benjamin and pack leader to 4 cats ( Bond, James Bond; Mrs. Hudson, Mycroft and B’Sheera) and two dogs (Otto Rocket, a Shi-Tzu and Genie, an Afghan Hound).

Holly grew up on the Chesapeake Bay, crabbing, fishing, sailing, and building sand castles, tree houses and secret gardens in the woods. After receiving a BS in Environmental Studies from Rutgers, Holly has entertained herself by working as a naturalist, coaching gymnastics, planting her vegetable garden in the shape of a labyrinth, selling organic eggs and chicken and mothering three delightful children. Holly surprised everyone, including herself, by returning to school for a MBA from Trinity DC, with an emphasis on Women in Leadership. Holly is currently the president of Williams & Heintz Map Corporation. She is a member of the Environmental Committee, Mid Atlantic Printing and Graphics Association. Holly is the secretary on the board of Maryland Organic Food and Farming Association. She is a member of Chesapeake Bay Watershed Working Group Pesticide Network of Johns Hopkins University.
