Applying to perform and entertain?
Here are some Things You Should Know:

All solo acts and groups should apply online, even if you have performed for us before. We will be reviewing all applicants every year, so even as we strive for some continuity, we cannot make any guarantees.

Remember that our festival is a family event. If you are booked at MDFF, please, no weapons, overt religious expressions, intoxicating herbals or alcohol. Please, use good taste - no obscenities. Please remember our audience is of all ages and beliefs.

After you apply, you should receive email acknowledgement of your application. At that time we will let you know if and where to send any additional materials.

PLEASE give us a valid email that is checked regularly. That will be (we hope) our primary means of communicating with you. If your email address changes during the process, please let us know ASAP!

The committee reserves the reject an application for any reason.

If your application is accepted we will contact you regarding fee discussions, scheduling, contract terms and related issues.

It will be permissible for booked performers to pass the hat and sell CD’s and other merchandise related to their acts. If you are booked we will provide you with more information regarding entertainer sales.

Some of you may wish to have a merchant booth as well as perform. The MDFF Vending Committee will need to be consulted and approve of all such considerations and requests.

Performers will be permitted to bring spouses and family within reason and they will be admitted for free.

Due to the 4H Center policy no animals are allowed on site except helper/assistance animals or animals considered part of your act. If your animal meets the prior criteria, you must be prepared to provide certification that your animal is up to date on all vaccinations required by law. Any animals coming to this event from outside the State of Maryland must have a copy of their Certificate of Health on site the day of the event. If you have any questions regarding other vaccinations or certifications please contact MdFF before May 15, 2008.

The festival and the organizers are not responsible for lost, stolen or damaged goods.

Entertainers are expected to insure their own property. The festival is not responsible for this coverage. Insurance of whatever nature, including, but not limited to, liability insurance and workmen’s compensation insurance, shall be the responsibility of the entertainer and shall be obtained at his/her own expense and initiation.

Should circumstances beyond the Festival's control (act of God, public calamity, withdrawal or suspension of any license or permit, weather) result in the prevention of a performance, the Festival shall not be liable to the performer for fees, costs, expenses, or damage of any nature.

The performer will hold harmless the Festival organizers and sponsors against all claims, liabilities, damage and expenses (including expenses of litigation and attorney’s fees), asserted or incurred against said Festival organizers and sponsors arising in whole or in part out of the performer’s activities as specified by this contract, including but not limited to personal injury to or property damage incurred by performer and performer’s staff. In addition the performer hereby agrees to this release, on his/her behalf and on behalf of all participants in their organization or group, and affirm that they are informed of this waiver of responsibility, and, by their individual and group participation, they too agree to this waiver as though signed by each and every one of them.

Invalidity or unenforceability of one or more provisions of this Agreement shall not affect any other provision of this Agreement.

We will be renting cabins on site, and will have space for overnight tenting as well. If you are booked and you want to stay on site for our annual MDFF please let us know.
